This was a lovely read. In her novel, The Nightingale, Ms. Hannah explores the relationship of sisters during a war. In this novel, we explore the complicated relationship between female friends. This book tracks the friendship of two friends from middle school to their mid-40’s. She has a deft way of creating characters who the reader cares about. They are far from perfect and their character flaws are part of their charm. The relationships of families are also explored to a good affect.
